An Important Message From Delhi Minor Baseball
Dear Delhi Tiger Baseball Players, Parents & Fans, Thank you for your continued patience as we’ve been working with neighbouring locals & Baseball Ontario to assess what our next steps will be during these challenging times.
Having assessed all the requirements for Return to Play protocols, the additional responsibilities to be placed on our volunteer coaches, the fact that no games are being permitted during Stage 2 of the Provincial Public Health Order, & that we are limited to a total of 10 people - players & coaches - which would only allow for split practices for the foreseeable future - we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 baseball season in Delhi.
Wednesday evening we participated in a conference call with Southern Counties Baseball Association, all our neighbouring locals & Ed Quinlan, Baseball Ontario President. What we heard was that the majority of our neighbouring local associations have already made the difficult decision to cancel their seasons.
As a result of the majority of the Southern County locals having cancelled their regular season outright, it was decided by Southern Counties Baseball Association that there will be no official REP League this summer. The same decision was made to cancel the House League InterLOC season.
Without neighbouring teams to play there cannot be a regular season, in turn, no yearend championship games nor OBA finals. We understand this maybe devastating news to our Tiger family - we too are deeply disappointed - but the safety of our players, coaches & volunteers must come first.
At this time all those who have registered & paid their registration fee, they will be issued a refund within the next 30 days.
We hope everyone is continuing to remain safe & follow the direction of our Public Health Authorities.
If you should have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
